In 2026, most federal, state, and local officials will be on the ballot. We need people interested in running at every level. Elections will include all of the below:
U.S. SENTATOR
Kentucky has a U.S. Senate seat up for election in 2026. Duties entail serving in the United States Senate as one of 2 Senators from Kentucky. Qualifications include being at least 30 years of age, a U.S. citizen, and residency in the state at the time of the election. The seat is currently held by Mitch McConnell. The election is statewide.
U.S. REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE 4TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
The Fourth Congressional District seat is up for election in 2026. Duties entail serving in the United States Congress as the Congressman from the 4th District, which covers the Northeastern section of Kentucky, from Louisville suburbs in the West to the Ashland area in the east. Qualifications include being at least 25 years of age, a U.S. citizen, and residency in the state at the time of the election. The seat is currently held by Thomas Massie. The election is for residents of the Fourth District.
STATE SENATOR FOR THE 24TH SENATORIAL DISTRICT
The General Assembly Senate seat is up for election in 2026. Duties entail serving in the Senate of the General Assembly in Frankfort. Qualifications include being at least 30 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky at least 6 years immediately preceding the election. A senator must have lived in their district for at least 1 year prior to the election. The 24th Senate District is comprised of all of Campbell, Bracken, and Pendleton Counties, and part of Kenton County. The current Senator is Shelley Funk Frommeyer.
REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE 67TH HOUSE DISTRICT
The General Assembly House seat for the 67th district us up for election in 2026. Duties entail serving in the House of the General Assembly in Frankfort. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district for at least 1 year prior to the election. The 67th district is comprised of Newport, Bellevue, Dayton, Wilder, Southgate, and parts of Fort Thomas, Highland Heights, and Cold Spring. The current Representative is Matt Lehman.
REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE 68TH HOUSE DISTRICT
The General Assembly House seat for the 68th district us up for election in 2026. Duties entail serving in the House of the General Assembly in Frankfort. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district for at least 1 year prior to the election. The 68th district is comprised of Alexandria, Melbourne, Camp Springs, Silver Grove, and parts of Fort Thomas, Highland Heights, and Cold Spring and surrounding areas. The current Representative is Mike Clines.
REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE 78TH HOUSE DISTRICT
The General Assembly House seat for the 78th district us up for election in 2026. Duties entail serving in the House of the General Assembly in Frankfort. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district for at least 1 year prior to the election. The 78th district is comprised of Pendleton County and parts of Boone, Kenton, and Campbell Counties, including the area around Grant's Lick and Claryville. The current representative is Mark Hart.
CAMPBELL COUNTY JUDGE EXECUTIVE
The office of Judge Executive is up for election in 2026. The Judge Executive is the chief executive officer for the county. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district for at least 1 year prior to the election.
CAMPBELL COUNTY ATTORNEY
The office of Campbell County Attorney is up for election in 2026. Duties entail serving as legal counsel for the county and prosecuting all criminal matters at the District Court level. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district for at least 1 year prior to the election, and being a licensed attorney for two years prior to the election.
CAMPBELL COUNTY SHERIFF
The office of County Sheriff is up for election in 2026. Duties entail tax collection, assisting with elections, courtroom duties, and law enforcement. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district for at least 1 year prior to the election.
CAMPBELL COUNTY CLERK
The office of County Clerk is up for election in 2026. Duties entail auto licensing, keeping land records, voter registration, and conducting elections. Qualifications include being at least 21 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district for at least 1 year prior to the election. In addition, candidates must pass a written examination on the duties of the office.
CAMPBELL COUNTY JAILER
The office of Jailer is up for election in 2026. Duties entail administration of the county jail. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district for at least 1 year prior to the election.
CAMPBELL COUNTY CORONER
The office of Coroner is up for election in 2026. Duties include investigation of any suspicious or unexplained death. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district for at least 1 year prior to the election.
CAMPBELL COUNTY PROPERTY VALUE ADMINISTRATOR
The office of Property Value Administrator is up for election in 2026. Duties include assessing all property in the county and keeping records of all assessments. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district for at least 1 year prior to the election. Additionally, they must pass a written examination covering the duties of the office.
CAMPBELL COUNTY SURVEYOR
The office of Surveyor is up for election in 2026. Duties include surveying property and determining boundary lines. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district for at least 1 year prior to the election, and must hold a Kentucky license as a professional surveyor.
CAMPBELL COUNTY COMMISSIONERS (DISTRICTS 1-3)
All County Commissioners are up for election in 2026. Duties include acting as a legislative body for the county, voting on all business matters at meetings of the fiscal court, normally scheduled twice a month. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district they are running in for at least 1 year prior to the election.
CAMPBELL COUNTY JUSTICE OF THE PEACE (DISTRICTS 1-3)
County Justices of the Peace are up for election in 2026. Duties include the solemnization of marriages and the acceptance of applications for notaries public. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district they are running in for at least 1 year prior to the election.
CAMPBELL COUNTY CONSTABLE (DISTRICTS 1-3)
County Constables are up for election in 2026. The duties of Constable change considerably on July 1, 2025, and are limited to such things as serving subpoenas and warrants, selling property to enforce liens, and animal control. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, and have lived in Kentucky for at least 2 years and in the district they are running in for at least 1 year prior to the election.
SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT SUPERVISORS
Many Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisors are up for election in 2026. The duties of the Supervisors is to conserve and develop the renewable natural resources in the county. Qualifications include being a resident of the district for which they are running.
CITY COUNCILS
Most city council seats will be up for election in 2026. Duties include attending city council meetings and voting on business of the city. Qualifications include being at least 18 years of age, a resident of the city for at least one year prior to election, and a qualified voter.
MAYORS
Most mayoral seats will be up for election in 2026. Duties include being the chief executive officer for the city. Qualifications include being at least 21 years of age, a resident of the city for at least one year prior to the election, and a qualified voter.
SCHOOL BOARDS
Many school board seats will be up for election in 2026. Duties include attending school board meetings and voting on business of the school district. Qualifications include being at least 24 years of age, a resident of Kentucky for at least 3 years prior to the election, a voter in the district where they are seeking election, and have a high school diploma or a GED certificate. A candidate cannot hold any federal, state, county, or local office at the time of election, and cannot be related to anyone employed by the school district.
